As the parents to two little girls and being a young family on a budget, we know that cross country flights or 3-week stays at a hotel just aren’t quite in the cards. That’s why we love Airbnb. It helps us stay flexible, experience new places, and actually gives us much easier (and better) accommodations for traveling with a family.
By far our greatest experience was our stay last week at the most beautiful Airbnb home in Wareham, MA.
Sitting feet away from high tide, this cozy seaside cottage was our home for a much-needed getaway. The house itself is beautiful and thoughtfully decorated for comfort and relaxation, and so many of the typical “hotel headaches” of vacation are completely wiped clean due to the host’s preparation for your stay. There’s a grill on a large deck against the water, there’s kayaks, bikes, laundry, and a well-stocked kitchen with all the little things you wish you had but would never pack (i.e. aluminum foil)! The best part, a local beach pass for our car, which is a huge money saver in the Cape Cod area.
We spent our mornings admiring the breath-taking view from the master bedroom and cooking breakfast in the bright kitchen. Our evenings were made of grilling on the deck and tucking ourselves in to a very, very comfy bed.
We were lucky enough to have beautiful beach weather every day, but if it had rained, we would have been content staying in all day long. There was a tower of eclectic DVDs to watch, toys and books for our girls to enjoy, and a large dining room table to spread out some crafts or games. Forrest still needed to get work done too, so he spent some time in the first half of each day (and late nights) at the desk. He even brought his computer, and says he wishes that was his permanent office 🙂
All in all, our stay was only as relaxing and fun as it turned out to be due to this amazing home we were lucky to have rented. We will most definitely go back, and could not recommend it any higher! It’s the best!
