Holy deliciousness! This turkey chili is SO incredibly wonderful! To be completely honest, we weren’t even planning on doing it with ground turkey, but when we were at the grocery store this past Sunday, all of the ground beef had a very short expiration date and we knew we were making it tonight so it had to be able to last for a few days. Then it caught our eye that there was a sale on ground turkey – it was 2 packs for $5, and the expiration date was further out. One more thing, its healthier! That’s when we decided on ground turkey chili. And boy, am I glad we did! This recipe was perfect! I highly recommend it. If you make it, make sure to comment and let me know how it turned out! čÖé

Ingredients:
3 1/2 lbs lean ground turkey
2 small onions, chopped
5 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tbsp ground cumin
1/8 cup paprika
1/2 tsp dried oregano
20 oz tomato sauce
3 oz tomato paste
1 1/2 cups water
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1 jalape├▒o, chopped

Directions:
1. Drizzle some olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until they are soft.
2. Add the lean ground turkey to the onions along with the garlic, chili powder and cumin. Stir occasionally for 30 minutes, until meat is evenly browned. Sprinkle in paprika and oregano.
3. Pour in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, salt, parsley and jalapeño. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes-1 hour, stir occasionally.
4. Oh, and if you should make corn bread mini muffins to go with it čÖé We used Krusteaz natural honey. I normally don’t use box mixes, but this one is really good!
5. Enjoy!
