Each day, I try to have a special activity planned for my oldest daughter and I while our little one is taking her morning nap (when she decides to take one).
This has become a really special time for us and something that I think we both cherish. My two year old pronounces it “apatibidy time” – I secretly hope she never learns how to really say activity.
(Recently, she just started saying “butterfly” perfectly, which sort of makes me sad, because I liked the way she said it in her old baby-like way. “Parleye” 🙁 Why do they have to grow up?!)
This past weekend during our activity time, we decided to get festive and add some Christmas decor to our home. After being obsessed with spotting snowflakes everywhere, we thought we could decorate some ourselves using our awesome OOLY crayons, pens, chalk sticks and markers! We are beyond obsessed with their arts and crafts products.
Every day, when it’s “too hard to wait” for lunch to be ready, or to leave for a fun errand – our little girl walks over to our craft drawer, pulls out some paper, and her OOLY product of choice. It’s always something different. Sometimes it’s markers, or pens, or colored pencils. I think her favorite is the Chunkies Paint Sticks – they are so easy to use, and dry immediately and they don’t smudge!
Craft time has been a blast, and is much easier now that I have a good set of high quality craft supplies.
My next challenge..keeping her little paws out of her craft drawer!
